Alfa Romeo 159 - Buyers Guide

The Alfa Romeo 159 was launched as a replacement for the 156 and was almost complete when a new CEO, Karl-Heinz, took over and then ensured the Alfa Romeo 159 was a "good one". The Alfa Romeo 159 attempted to be a rival to the BMW 3 series but has never quite made it and now carves a name for itself seperate to the BMW.
Constructed on a new base and design, the Alfa Romeo 159 is slightly larger than the old Alfa Romeo 156 making it a bit more roomier insde. The overall styling on the inside and outside is more or less the same but made a little more aggressive and simpler with no carry over from the Alfa Romeo 156. A New multi link suspension at the rear, coupled with a newdouble-wishbone system at the fronthas replaced the old set up on the Alfa Romeo 156. As well as the four door saloon, there is a considerably larger estate sport wagon, and the 156 GT is still on sale.
In late 2007 the Q-tronic became available in the 159 range as an automatic with the 150PS 1.9 JTDM, 2.4 JTDM and leading 3.2 JTS.
